Working on setting up OBD Fusion V70-XC70

I assume there is only one bank on a 5 cyl. engine? I am currently getting "engine service required" !

Actually corrected a leak with smoke machine at intercooler outlet but no joy! I have vacuum with the rubber glove test but not seeing O2% bank 1 sensor 1 counting?

Hoping for advice on setting this for 2.5T Volvo?

I have been searching, thanks

2007 Currently 184,000 miles but orginal Owner replaced engine with used engine. Thought he said about 140,000? Does not appear to be in good condition!

Repaired PCV hoses, caused the Spark plug area to be oil saturated! Will pass the rubber glove test!

Where is the upstream O2 sensor located? Just one before Cat?

Okay I have located the front O2 sensor!

I have tried two Pid's for oxygen sensors and OBD Fusion reports 1-1.02% ! So I believe more investigation is needed, that possibly the sensor has failed but did not set a code but has triggered the "engine needs service" message?

Could it be a damaged wiring harness? I really hate to just throw parts such as a new O2 sensor or a new MAF and then discover I still have the problem?

It does appear to be using excess fuel and of course the cruise is disabled.

Strange that it did not throw a code? For a bad O2 sensor?

Unless there is a drivability problem, I would ignore the message until a code appears.

I took your advice and ordered the AutoPhix ES610

Replaced O2 sensor as well as "brake pedal position sensor" and intake pipe to turbo replaced original was damaged!

Short drive tonight, no messages or loss of cruise function, previous test drives revealed no codes and cruise failed, engine felt like a misfire (rough)!

Volvo now ready for some highway miles, felt powerful in #1 gear!!

Perhaps you could respond to afm's post regarding brake pedal position sensor. He wanted to know if it needed calibration.

As far as your fixes, having the intake air compromised really messes up engine management. That probably fixed all of the problems.

Klaus is 100% correct about a bad turbo intake screwing with the engine management system. That has happened to me. If the air flow isn’t correct your engine is certainly not going to run well.

I am looking forward to some of the on-line tech. comments on your problem. I think I may have a similar issue.
I took over my wife's 2003 XC70 several years ago and got her a newer XC90.
Around 142K miles on the 2003, the "Engines needs service" light started coming on,
on startup. If I don't cancel, it will go out in about a minute later.
The Volvo shop can find no other codes and resets it (?)... the message
comes back about a week later.
The car runs normal in all respects and I cannot detect anything to attribute it to. The car has run like that for the past 11 months and now has 148K miles on it.

KlausC recommended I contact you after I installed a new brake position sensor, I did no calibration and not certain it will help you? I had two messages; one for engine needs service and one concerning brake assist needs maintenance.

Last night the Volvo ran very well but today I opted to pull it down for PCV service. Additionally I replaced the O2 sensor, air intake to turbo pipe along with BP Position sensor. Personally I know nothing about calibration for the sensor?

I also ordered a Autophix ES610 for Volvo and will scan for problems when this job is complete.
