2004 Glass Headlights & 2006 Plastic Headlights V70-XC70

Are the 2004 Volvo XC70 Glass Headlights interchangeable or can be used on a 2007 Volvo XC70 with plastic headlights?

Six years ago I replaced my original headlights with what were suppose to be good ones ($600.) However they have leaked and need changing out again and would sure like to use the 2004 XC70 glass headlights.

    I don't think this would be a straightforward swap. The glass headlight cars have a different front bumper than the later plastic ones. The glass headlight cars have headlight wipers that were eliminated in 2006 (I have a 2004 and a 2006 XC70). The headlight washer assemblies are very different as well.

    Just from looks, they appear to fit. If you still have the 2004's, give it try?

      I have the same issue. 2007 XC 70 with faulty and fogged up passenger headlights.

      I pulled a nice set of headlights from a junked 2002 XC 70.

      I took the wipers off and the glass units fit the socket and bolt in fine; however, the wiring harness from my car's OEM headlights don't snap into the glass units; plastic units have a different wiring setup.

      I did cut the wires off of the glass ones when I pulled them, so I'm thinking about splicing them to my car's wiring; however I the wires are different colors, so I'm nervous about that.

      Does anyone have wiring diagram resources for the 2002 to 2007, or has done this themselves?
