2002 V70 T5 A/C TEMP SENSOR LOCATION V70-XC70

Have looked at YouTube videos showing it by the gas pedal inside molding - I looked and can't see it.

Part # is 30665118. Does anyone know where its located and how to get at it? DIY job?

Thanks.

Assuming your car is LH drive...

You have to remove the side trim from the LH side of the console.
Then you have to remove the under-dash shield.
Then look straight up above the gas pedal and the sensor is stuffed into the LH side of the evaporator box.

There isn't much showing when it's installed in the air box besides a couple wires running to the connector.
Note how the connector is oriented - this is important.
Pull the sensor out - it's a friction fit. When you reinstall it be sure to get the connector clocked the same way the old one was as the cold air needs to flow through the sensor loop in a certain direction. If you look closely at the loop you'll see what I mean.

Here's what it looks like when removed:

My compressor with engine hot is cycling every 20 seconds - cooling is OK but not 100%

Ant ideas where to look - clutch gap?

Thanks again

If the compressor is cycling, the clutch is OK. When the A/C temp sensor gets close to 32F, the A/C will turn off the compressor to let the evaporator warm up/thaw.

In your case, I would check the pressure at the low pressure port. It probably needs a can of R134a.

The compressor cycles every 20 seconds - but the clutch keeps spinning the whole time?

Thoughts?

Cooling in car is "OK" not 100% but maybe 90%

If I need a new compressor - who makes a good one?

Does the AC cool OK before the engine gets fully warm?
Also, when the compressor clutch engages does it appear that the center part of the pulley is turning in sync with the outer pulley ring?

Chris - the A/C cools OK - not 100% but 90%
The compressor cycles every 20 seconds and the centre part on the clutch keeps spinning the whole time.

Any thoughts?

If I need a compressor who makes a good one - UAC, Denso, etc.?
