Transmission Filter V70-XC70 2000

While replacing the radiator in the V70, I noticed that the transmission fluid is looking a little dirty.

Since I have the radiator cooling lines disconnected, it's a good time to flush the fluid.

I was wondering about replacing the transmission pan filter at the same time.

Any special tools involved in doing this on the AWD models? Is there a good source for the filter and pan gaskets or is it best to order these from the dealer?

There is no pan filter. Do not remove the pan!

There is an internal filter, but the tranny has to be dismantled to clean/replace it.

Go ahead and drain/flush the fluid. If you have a 4sp tranny, try using a synthetic fluid. Because it is difficult to read the dipstick at the 'proper' temperature, measure what comes out and put the same amount back in.
