hi friends i drive a 98 volvo v70 222k non turbo whats the correct way to find out why the car is running rich can i do it with a scan tool and what should i look for 1st

If you have a check engine light, by all means check the codes.
If not, check for unmetered air entering the intake manifold - vacuum lines, bad intake hose, dirty MAF, exhaust leak before the CAT, stuck injectors, bad spark plugs,O2 sensor getting old...

if the check engine light is on then yes do check for codes with a scan tool record and clear the codes to see if they come back

what are the symptoms that make you think that the car is running rich is the oil level going up due to fuel being dumped into the cylinders, rough running, or bad fuel economy

if no codes then you should check the fuel system

well i been codes p0133 slow response and p0422 below threshold i might have a bad cat injectors have not been change since i had the car since 2012 everything else i did new fuel pump oil changes on time should i change my injectors or smoke the car
