70 series header/crash panel removal procedure? V70-XC70

Hello All,

Trying to replace the panel in which the headlights mount. I pull a mint condition panel from a c70, but it already had the bumper off.

I've searched around and found a few posts that mention either removing the bumper, or not removing the bumper.

Anyone have the procedure for removal, without dropping the bumper?

Thanks

gd

Are you talking about the radiator support that goes all the way from fender to fender? And 98-00 years? If so, the bumper can stay on. Feeding the bolts through the cross member gets a little testy, but doable.

Bumper not too difficult but you have to be methodical. As you took the replacement panel off the other car you should be able to do the same on your car. Note Roberts comment at the start about the special rivets. Best to get a pack of those before you start. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies!

The panel I removed already had the entire bumber removed. I think I can get to the center bolt- the only one I cannot reach, from underneath. Waiting for a warm snap to get it done.

Thanks!

gd
