Pulling the battery S80 2005

Can the battery be pulled and replaced without any special considerations (Re: electronics, radio, CEM, etc)? I've R-and-R'd batteries on many cars but this is my first s80.

2005 s80 2.5T AWD 158k

Thanks.

I replaced the battery and all seems fine. I wore my IPD shirt while working on it, so I am sure that helped.

We had a 2005 S80 for quite a few years during which I had to replace the battery at least one time. I don’t recall losing the radio presets or anything like that. If it is a concern you can always connect some sort of small 12vdc power supply - low amperage battery charger, small 12v battery, etc - to the battery cables before you disconnect them from the battery. If you do that you just have to be careful to keep the cable terminals isolated from each other and from the car chassis. Also don’t be turning on any accessories or opening doors or anything else that would draw more current than your temporary power source can provide.

Actually, a 9V battery will work so long as all lights, etc are off.

But you shouldn't have a problem replacing the battery without current flow to the computers. Just clean the cable connectors before you put on the cables (positive first).
