Recall R10029 - Front Seat Belt Fastener

Has anyone else gotten notice for this recall? Anyone know what the fix will be?

I figure that it's extremely unlikely that the belt would be folded over repeatedly enough times for the cable to fatigue to the point that it is compromised (assuming that is the issue being addressed?).

We'll probably get the recall done when it's available, but I'd like to know what it is, in case it's a fix that compromises the ease and comfort of using the car.

Thanks,
Will

From Mother Volvo:
FAQ

Q: Why is there a safety recall?
A: Volvo Cars investigations have identified a problem regarding the front seat belt fastening, mounted on the outer side of the front seat. The front seat belt fastening cable may over time suffer from reduced strength under certain circumstances.

Q: Which vehicles are affected?
A: Affected vehicles are previous-generation S60, S60 Cross Country, V60, V60 Cross Country, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 cars produced between 2007 and 2018.

Q: Is my car safe to use? What should I do if I am concerned regarding my seatbelt?
A: We have no reports of any related incidents to this recall issue.

Until your vehicle has been repaired, we recommend that the driver and passenger ensure that the seat belt fastening is in a vertical position, aligned with the backrest, so that it will not be bent over the seat cushion when entering the seat. This will reduce the risk of damage of the seat belt fastening.

We received notice of that on our 2018 S80 Inscription (China built). I don’t see what the big issue is but I will ask the dealer the time I’m in there for service.
