threw the code on drive home...secondary air injection system malfunction...replaced pump, all hoses and clamps with good factory parts last fall...circle of repair suggestions suggest checking fuse for the air pump...didn't know it was fused...anybody know the fuse number/location?...would be a big help in keeping this twenty two year old ride of mine going...

thanks to all

Tom

Same fuse as the starter - 50 amp.

If you clear the code, it will go away for a while.

Check the SAS solenoid and the one way valve. Make sure a vacuum hose hasn't slipped off.

thanks you both for the input...both valve and solenoid were also replaced...wondering...exhaust cracked and noisy...haven't had time to down the car and get it to a shop...would this trigger the code somehow?

The SAS is plugged in to the intake manifold, the exhaust will have no effect.

There is a relay close to the pump, it looks just like the relay on the fan shroud (same). A blue wire goes from the relay to the air pump. On my 1996, the salt completely ate away at the relay.
