V70 t-5 TRANSMISSION SHIFTING 2nd to 3rd 2002 V70-XC70

Flaring means that the shift takes too long and the engine rpms go up.

The 3309 ATF is correct. How was the fluid replaced? Using a machine to pump fluid can cause sludge to move to a solenoid and block it. If you drained and filled, check the fluid level with the fluid hot and engine running.

Here is very good write up regarding shift flares:

Just saw there is a service kit available

Volvo 30751262. B4 SERVO COVER UPDATE

They rec a fluid flush and software update before doing the kit - which will solve the flaring

I hope - anyone have experience with this kit

IPD and FCP sell them

Any thoughts / ideas
