P0112 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Low Input 850 1997

'97 850 GLT 200K +

So the p0112 code tells me to check the ambient temp sensor.
My OBD2 reader registered -40F on a 75F day.
Might explain the rough idle after start-up & poor gas mileage.

Is there a way to bench test the air sensor like I do with a liquid sensor such as measuring resistance vs air temp ??

The higher the resistance, the lower the temperature. Before replacing, clean both sides of the plug, clear the code and see if it comes back again.

P0112 Intake Air Temperature Circuit Low Input 850 1997

Welp, the one AAT sensor I found was on the drivers side and is apparently only for the instrument cluster temp read-out, when its disconnected the gauge says "lo" and the OBD reader stills says "-41 F".

Wiring diagram mentions 2 sensors, any idea where the other one might be located.

My 1998 had 2 sensors behind either side of the front bumper. The 1997 had them both together. Look down this thread, there is a picture of the 1997:

Thanks, will check & clean connectors.
Just wondering what the baseline resistance is so I can tell if the sensor is in the ballpark or not.

0F is usually around 2500 or so. Above 80 should be close to 300 ohms.
