fuel pump relay S70 1998

worth it to try and 'rebuild'?...I'm thinking they fail because a soldered point gives up someplace in it...thoughts?

Tom

People do rebuild them, but it is not just re-soldering like the old RWD ones. The typical problem is capacitor failure. There are good threads on this on Matthew's Volvo site.

thanks to Herb and Klaus....old one failed, replaced with OEM part, no problems since replacement...think old one was original to car...a '98...was thinking of playing around with it just for kicks, but with no testing equipment, not sure how I could 'rebuild' it...

More than likely a diode failure. Of course, you can try to rebuild it as a summer project... But I suggest buying a new one, just be careful that you don't get an off brand version.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
