died and came back 850

so my 1995 850 187000 miles auto base model died as I was getting home yesterday then when I turned the key there was nothing about 2 minutes later it started , and it hasnt died since , starts right up , for the last few weeks there was a noise that is gone now like a loud buzzing behind the AC controls , when the car died there was a faint smell of something burning , I read this about the Ac evaporator making that kind of noise , but will it make the car die ad will it smell like burning?? any ideas and help much appreciated

thanks

Evaporators don't make noise. The blower can and you might want to check the wiring between the blower and rheostat if you smell something burning.

As for the engine stalling, check the cables on the battery. While you are at it, check the condition of the battery. If it is over 5 years old, save up for a new one. Check the wires from the alternator.

Keeping it running is better than buying new

Turning the key and nothing might = ignition starting to go. The sound and smell I have no idea and they might not be related anyway.
