2000 V70 - 250K Miles
This week the CEL reappeared and is on again, but I think for a different reason. The earlier CEL instance was three weeks ago, when a fouled spark plug caused a misfire. Plugs were replaced and solved the problem.
The light appeared during normal commute driving. Any performance difference is almost imperceptible except for slightly different shifting and not as sharp throttle response. Also, when the throttle is blipped at idle while in Park, instead of returning to idle the engine will stall. Otherwise, car idles and drives OK.
I think the car is still running on its original O2 sensors, so that might be a contributor. The ETM was dealer campaign-replaced early on in the car’s service as I recall, since the original ETM was problematic.
I’ll take the car in Monday to have codes read, but O2 sensors and/or ETM are what I’m guessing at the moment.
Any thoughts?
