Gas gauge dies V70-XC70 2006

My gas gauge will stop working after driving for about and hour, does any know what might cause this? Thanks Jim

Broken wire? inspection at the gauge's head I suppose
Float's travel impeded by a loose baffle? remove gauge and inspect interior of tank I suppose
Heat related failure of the DIM's circuitry one of those DIM resoldering services if you can't do ityourself I suppose

Be glad your odometer works so you can roughly calculate when to fill-up. This I know.

Would a bad fuel gauge be diagnosable with a VADIS? I don't know.
