Convertible top catches mid closing C70 2004

My 2004 V70 convertible top seems to catch on the right side as it closes. When the roof is at about mid-closure the right side very suddenly "pops" loudly and comes down hard and then finishes closing normally. The catch/pop/noise seems to happen when the front portion of the roof is unfolding and is approximately straight up. Upon examining the mechanism I don't see an obvious reason why the roof would get hung up briefly causing the roof to snap forward. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thank you!!

Not good. Can you stop the roof at just before the pop and look under the fabric for a wire or snag? I realize the top does not like to be interrupted, but a 'pop' will turn into a break sooner than later.

You were right on. I asked my wife to close the top while I watched. Sure enough the outside bead of the fabric top had somehow decided to start folding inside and as the mechanism moved the fabric edge/bead would catch on the top mechanism and then snap into place when enough pressure was applied. Although not good, all I had to do was to help the fabric fold properly and now I just watch each time we close the top to be sure that everything is in place. Luckily no harm appears to have been done because we didn't allow this to go on. Seems to work smoothly again. Thank you!!
