Insurance payed for LKQ used parts after Accident 2005

Hi to all,

Someone hit my Volvo (2005) and his insurance paid to body shop for LKQ used pars. And body shop installed the used parts.

Now the used parts (side view mirror motor, mirror etc.) not working.

What should I do?

Go back to the shop and ask them to help you make your case to the insurance company. They may have some inside connections.

What's in it for them? The insurance company may pay them to obtain and install the replacement parts.

Mention to them that Volvo parts are warranted for life.

Sorry to sound like a downer, but you shouldn't have agreed to use unknown quality used parts.

I agree with Klaus. Go back to whoever installed the inferior parts and have them fix it.

Did you look for a blown fuse? Installing used parts is not uncommon, they are OEM and should be in like new condition. Most of my car parts are from salvage yards.

I am sure the mirrors worked when you picked up the car, you didn't drive 100 days without adjusting the mirrors.

"Geico insurance forced the shop to install..."

Not sure about NY, but that is not legal in CT.

Again, sorry, but I think the insurance company and repair shop took advantage of your lack of understanding of the law.
        Good luck.
