Hey! thanks for the link Klaus.
I'm not sure if I would have attempted DIY if an aftermarket harness had already been set up. Bluetooth, steering wheel control, dash kit, etc. That said, I think Best Buy Geeks are $100, or there might be a local shop that you can bring the parts. I wasn't in love with Crutchfield even though they are a good co. I don't know why 'won't fit' would happen,(same or similar for me) since it seems the current units accommodate the functions that are in demand, and the dash would have plenty of room (double check). Wouldn't 'with nav' be the little screen that pops up out of the dash? This stereo stuff seems to take a ton of research, and there are also surely many folks out there eager to sell you stuff. Also dash kits seem to vary in price a lot. This looks good: https://www.carid.com/2007-volvo-xc90-stereo-installation-dash-kits/ This too: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-99-9228B-Single-Double-Dash/dp/B017HTT1KG/ref=pd_cp_107_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B017HTT1KG&pd_rd_r=KZTRT4FVZEXNRNXWBQWJ&pd_rd_w=u4EXK&pd_rd_wg=p7OGA&psc=1&refRID=KZTRT4FVZEXNRNXWBQWJ But Amazon has a different one listed for $99.(yikes) I think Scosche might be better quality than Metra but not 100% sure. The console section is not hard to remove on my V70, especially now that I have done it more than 5 times :) Plastic bone tools are great, and there might be a Volvo publication similar to this one http://accessories.volvocars.com/en-se/V70(00-08)/InstallationInstruction/Document/VCC-161490-1/2006/D5/Automatic/R.H.D/V70_(00-08)%2C_2006
All this said, in my old 850, the AM had trouble. I cleaned the antenna connection plug behind the HU, with some temp success. And, had read that the connection to the antenna can have problems further back but I never pursued. Good luck, Happy hunting, let us know how it goes -Bill
