Both side mirror housings floppy V70-XC70 2008

Servicing my wife's '08 V70 today and found that both side mirror housings don't stay in place. They don't "fold when locked" with that option selected, nor do they stay in place in the wind. They are loose on their mounts.

The mirror glass adjustment works, just the housings are floppy. Son tells me that wife forced them out by hand when folded.

Are they broken?

Hope not....
