oxygen sensor S70 1998

'98 NA model...got code PO 133 driving home on highway the other day...code reader telling me oxygen sensor circuit slow, bank 1 sensor 1...may need replacing, as it is most likely original, with 128k on the odometer...does this model have one or two sensors?...went to Tasca website to check pricing, and they show different listings per model, with a front and a rear...any advice much appreciated

You have 2 O2 sensors, one before the CAT and one after. You want a front O2 sensor, part #9202719. Search the web for a cheap one.

Most parts stores will loan out a 7/8" socket to remove the O2 sensor. Using PBBlaster helps, but let it soak a while. I thought I was going to rip off the down pipe trying to get mine off.

Yes, it is on the down pipe. The connector is on top of the transmission housing, close to the ABS module (driver's side). There are two connectors, front and rear.

Clear the code and get ready to order a new front O2 sensor. Yes, your car also has a rear sensor, behind the cat, but they last much longer than the front which is attached to the down pipe.

Remember, testing stations do not like it when you 'clear' codes.

thanks to you both for chiming in...have been driving car a bit, no return of CE light as yet...maybe just a hiccup for sitting for a bit...took on a 150 mile high speed round trip...maybe cleaned things out a bit...

Clear code and see if it comes back. If so, bank 1 sensor 1 is the sensor before the cat. Sometimes a electric blip will trip a code.
