2006xc70 water pump V70-XC70

My water pump is starting to leak@ 133k
Timing belt sticker notes that both were changed at 109
Should I have the shop replace both again?
Maybe the pump was rebuilt not brand new when the po replaced it prior to sale?
Thanks all
Pete

Ditto. My guess is someone used a cheap pump, because the OEM reliably go to 200K so long as the antifreeze is flushed regularly.

    New belt and tensioner.

The bummer of it all is that if the PO had left the original pump in when he did the first belt change, it would likely still be operating driplessly.

I would replace the belt now along with the pump. Then you won't have to address the belt until 238,000 miles. If you knew for sure that the PO used a quality tensioner and idler (like blue box Volvo) then there's a good chance they could make it to 238K. But if the PO cheaped out on the water pump, what kind of tensioner and idler did they install? I have a feeling they may have been "sold" a water pump so they probably got "sold" the other hardware also. But I'm really surmising here. It's just that a failed belt, or tensioner, or idler, or water pump is almost certainly disastrous.
