Replaced steering rack, now the abs is on S70

2000 s70, just replaced the steering rack. Ready to take it to the garage for an alignment. When I was attempting to back it out of the garage, the brakes engaged after one revolution of the steering wheel. Straighten out the wheels and the brakes do not auto engage. The ABS light turned in after a few minutes of moving the car backward and forward.

Part of the steering rack replacement I also replaced the CV joint boot on the passenger side, which involved removing the drive shaft on that side.

I pulled main fuse #4 (ABS) but the brakes still engaged with the full turn of the steering wheel.

All help appreciated.

Chris

I'm having a hard time imagining how the brakes are applied by turning the steering wheel. Check to see that the tires aren't rubbing on something at full lock.

The ABS light might be due to damage to the wire on the right side sensor. You can check that with a ohm meter. Compare the readings to the sensor on the right side.

Agreed, check the ABS wire for damage. Entirely possible since you were working in the area.
