P0133 code slow o2 sensor response 850 1996

Time to get my daughters car inspected again. She gas 96 Turbo wagon. Finally replaced the pre-cat O2 sensor due to P0133 code. Replaced with original Bosch but CEL still comes on with 0133 code. What other things could cause this? IF her car was only a 95'....

Check for exhaust leaks, especially the 'flex' pipe. Check for intake manifold leaks, vacuum leaks, etc.

When you plugged in the new O2 sensor, did you check for clean pins?

Haven't looked recently for exhaust leaks or vacuum leaks. What is the flex pipe exactly? Didn't clean the pins but did spray the outside of the connector with electronic spray cleaner before I took apart. I did order an extension wire in case the sensor wire was too short but didn't use it since it looked like there was already one installed and it had plenty of length.

Flex pipe is at the top of the exhaust down pipe and behind the turbo. It looks like steel mesh, allowing the down pipe to 'move' with engine torque. The down pipe is where the front O2 sensor is located.

Also check the junction of the cat to the tail pipe. Stock, those two pieces are held together with a clamp.
