Can't find Beige liftgate panel for 850 recolor grey panel?

I have been trying to locate a replacement liftgate panel in Beige but have not found any at the local pick & pulls or new from dealer. However, I can purchase a new grey one thru volvo parts and they are fairly reasonable in the $100 range. My question has anyone ever tried painting interior panels to match aND then recolor the carpet insert?

    You do not use paint for that - there are dyes that can do the job.

    Ask at a professional auto body supplies shop.

    See if you can buy the wrong color cheap at a pick and pull.

    After you do that, you are to sure to bump into the correct one!

    Before you consider painting as an option, which never turns out right, wait. I always have a hard time finding black unless I am looking for beige. It is one of Murphy's Laws.

    Of course, there are fewer and fewer 850's in the bone yards these days. You might want to call some salvage yards close to home and see if they have a good example. Of course, if they take a panel off, the fasteners will be broken and the plastic around the inside handle will be mangled - deduct for that.

      They seem to be very hard to find. All kinds of V70 wagons around but unfortunately due to the difference in the brake light it will not fit.

      Not given up yet...
