REACHED MY LIMIT V70-XC70 2003

Yesterday, I picked up a door from a local salvage yard to replace the one,on my daughter's car, that was sideswiped by someone who thought it was better to just drive away than to admit responsibility. Anyway, I found the door , in color, at a good price and proceeded to mount it along with the left front fender (also damaged in said hit and run). Everything went smoothly until the point that I pressed the switch to put the window down---nothing happened. When I press the switch up the glass will nudge up and then move down about two inches from the top. Every so often the glass will go up then down all the way but then it reverts to the prior behavior. Any suggestions??

It could be the 'door module'.

    From Sweedspeed:

    1. Engage the auto-down function and remove fuse 11C/5 (for driver's side) or 11C/4 (for passenger side) (located in the driver's side dash fusebox) during window movement. <-- Important!

    2. Install fuse back into position.

    3. Engage the auto-up function and hold it engaged for 5 seconds after the window has reached the fully closed position.

    4. Verify window is now working properly.

Klaus thanks for this information and thanks to all who have responded to my post. My daughter took the car back to school yesterday so I will have to wait until later in the week to try out this procedure. I find it interesting that the switch/module produces a different result in the new door than it did in the original. Have you tried this procedure before? The first step seems a bit ambiguous to me. Is fuse 11C/5 to be pulled at the same time the window switch is pressed for downward movement? Is that what the "...

Pulling the fuse while in operation will cause the system to reboot and require relearning.

You could have her try pulling up on the window switch (in auto mode) and wait 5 seconds before releasing the switch. That's what I would do.

      door module V70-XC70 2003

My wife's 2003 XC70, front passenger door often fails to stay locked.
When you hit the remote lock, the door locks and immediately pops open, all the other doors function properly. Could it be the control module ??? or do I have to open the door panel and see what wrong ???.....

      Thx.

      Art

You could try the key in the lock and see if it still happens. It could be a dirty lock that just quite doesn't latch with the remote. I assume the other doors are locked and remain so.

Bad switch. Exactly the same thing happened on my 95 855.

You could take it out and try cleaning it and check the wiring. Unfortunately, mine fell apart when I did that. Age I guess. New one was about $20.
