Wiper Fuse mystery V70-XC70

It is the old swerving to avoid smashing a cat story. A good day for Mr. Cat, not so much for the front right corner of my '98 v70. I hit one of those peculiar vintage concrete sign structures found on secondary rural roads. That corner was damaged and will require changing out the fender and hood as well as the bumper cover and projector headlamp/parking assembly.
The car runs and drives as it should until all of the repairs are made with the exception of the mysterious blowing of the (#34) horn/wiper fuse (25a). I removed the damaged headlight wiper/washer assembly and made sure all of its wiring was free. I think there is actually a two pole connector in there somewhere. At any rate, the #34 fuse is still blowing. . At this point, not immediately. I have not checked the horn lead since it is more mid line. If anyone knows what may be causing the fuse issue, I would appreciate a heads up. Spring is a lousy time to drive in the Midwest with iffy wipers!
Also, if anyone is aware of a vendor that supplies individual ABM lamp fixtures/assemblies, it would be helpful as well. Otherwise I will have to get a full set and sell one on! Sort of pricey.
I hope that cat lives a long and useful life. . .

Wiper Fuse mystery V70-XC70

There is a common ground for the headlight washer motor and the washer pump on the right side of the radiator brace. I assume you unplugged the wiper motor, the orange connector, but check the wires and make sure they are not cut and grounded on a piece of metal.

I would probably swerve for a kitten, but not a cat!

I removed the entire wiper assembly since it was somewhat mangled. More disassembled. I wouldn't be surprised if it couldn't be reassembled to a working unit. Since the fuse doesn't blow immediately upon key turn (to acc or run position)I will trace down your suggestion. It seems like the fuse went during a short drive at night. .Today I will drive with no lights on to test that lights theory.

I didn't check the cat's ID. I barely saw him. And then there is the whole braking/avoiding ALL animals thing! You would think that the state/county would have removed all of those WPA era sign posts over the years rather than allow them to lurk in the roadside undergrowth. We also have a lot of old concrete culvert abutments still in use but not really marked. It makes country roads exciting!

The trouble with a kitten is that eventually it becomes a cat.
