Changing battery xc70 2011 V70-XC70 2011

I've got a 2011 xc70 and i am preparing to change out the original battery for an aftermarket one. I've read the manual - - it does not saying anything about losing any settings when changing the battery but i've read on some other boards that this can happen. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Thanks.

If you don't want to loose any memory, you can supply 9V to the car while changing the battery. Use a new 9V battery, one of those rectangular ones that you use for smoke detectors, a couple of long wires, and clips.

Get everything ready to pull the battery, make sure the liftgate light is off as are all of the other lights in the car. Clip the leads from the 9V battery to the leads on the car battery. Disconnect the car battery, insert the new car battery, connect the leads, and remove the 9V wires.

9V is enough to keep all of the computers happy.
