Any real Problems ? V70-XC70

Hi all,
Looking at buying a V70XC , are there any real issues with XC versus FWD models and any years to avoid ?

Thank you,
Dave

You had this question back in 2012, kind of. So you should know that for the XC, you start in 2004 and work your way newer. It's a Volvo, so there are electronic glitches on every model, expect it to happen to you too.

It is not how much the odometer has spun, it is how well the maintenance was performed.

Of course, the XC is more complicated than the V, it is also harder to work on when there is a prop shaft from the transmission to the rear wheels. Expect more maintenance with the XC: bevel gear oil change, Haldex oil and filter. Watch out for failing fuel pumps.

Avoid all 2001 and 2002 Volvos. Can have transmission/software issues.

It is my understanding that the AWD cars are generally fine but expect higher maintenance costs as they age...

One exception might be the early XC70's. Specifically 1998-2002. Believe the AWD was changed in either 2003 or 2004 to a more dependable system.
