Looking at "newer' model S80

Hello all Im looking for some input from the vets here. I am looking at getting rid of my 2006 S80 2.5t and going with an 09 or 10 model. The main reason is I am approaching 300k on my current S80. Just curious if the reliability is still there in the new models? I have maintained my current car with help of everyone on this board and clearly you guys know your stuff! I am a novice at best with very limited mechanical abilities. Thanks again for everything!

Try not to look at AWD and turbo 3.2L or turbo 3.0L engines. My concern is the amount of heat build up in the engine bay, which is quite crowded. The 5 cyl is no longer made, but the 2010 has better gear ratios for better mpg.

As far as I am concerned, synthetic engine oil is required. You can use 5W30 or 0W30, depending on how cold it gets in your area.

Maintenance history is required, and maintained 'by the book' at a dealership doesn't mean much to me. Dealers do not typically use synthetic oil and seldom do preventative maintenance.

Most of the problems these days requires a computer programmer, not a mechanic.

You drive quite a few miles. When switching to an 08-10 your wallet may notice the increase in fuel consumption, then again it may not be that big of a deal to you. If the current ride is still running OK, you might consider hanging with it another year or two and then leapfrogging the 3.2 and going straight to a Drive-E. They'll be depreciating quite nicely by then.
