Radiator Replacement--850 (1997 Base) 850

Hi and thanks,
Mechanically, this base 850 wagon is still running wonderfully, but it developed a crack somewhere in the radiator. (Confirmed by mechanic via pressure test.)
It is on the passenger side of the radiator that the leak is coming from, but inside the housing, so there's no way to see if it's a pinhole leak, broken solder joint, etc.
Under pressure it leaks, so of course that means driving will mean a leak every time we go out. It's not mechanical, but the crack still makes the 850 a "Bad Order," as they say on the railroad.
How easy is the radiator change-out?
Our mechanic, who has never let us down, said it looks like it's not the easiest change-out. He used a B-word other than "bear."
I once watched a mechanic take out a radiator from an early 2000s GM pickup, and this 850 radiator looks much more complicated to replace.
We'd like to fix it if it's an easy-enough repair.
Thanks and good weekend!!!

Difficult? Not really, just tedious. Ramps or 2 jack stands will help because you do need to drain the radiator and remove 4 bottom bolts. I would get 2 new transmission line clamps if yours are rusty, and it leaks a cup of ATF when you disconnect the lower line.

The tedium is getting the top shroud disconnected, along with all of the junk mounted on the fan shroud. Then there are the two bolts that hold the radiator to the AC condenser together, and extension and swivel.

You can either lower the radiator or pull it up out of the engine bay. Most pull it up.

There are various write ups on Youtube, most are for the turbo which is more involved.

Remember to use Zerex G05 or Volvo branded antifreeze, along with distilled water.
