2006 XC70 Headlight assembly replacement V70-XC70

Just broke one of my front headlights and need to replace both so they will match. Who makes the best aftermarket headlight for he 2006 XC70 and the best place to buy. Just noticed even Amazon is selling them now... Thanks jb

Looking around on the WWW, I found examples from $135-$250. The $250 were "OE", so they claim. What you didn't say, are these halogen or bulb type lights.

Personally I would take a good used OE rather than a new aftermarket unit. One bad experience with an aftermarket tail light left a sour taste in my mouth.

Do you have any wrecking yards near you? If not, you could try someone like Erie Volvo for good used parts.

The problem is the plastic covers are all cloudy and faded and mine needed replacing. I had mine buffed and cleaned but they were still cloudy. All the used ones are the same. There are many aftermarket ones, some good and some poor quality, just trying to fine something to replace them both for a reasonable price. (Less than 750. for both) jb

        Gotcha.

My 03 has glass lenses so they don't fog, but I've found they're no match for a deer running across the road at night.

Even if you are replacing both sides, I'd be inclined to explore the possibility of locating some good used OE's. It's not absolutely imperative that all headlights that age are going to be foggy. Example - my wife's 05 headlights still look near new, being that the car is a garage queen.

I did check earlier it seems there are many around that match my foggy one but no good clear used ones in the South East US. jb
