can S70 sedan trunk shocks/struts be used in an 850? 850

I picked up 1997 850 sedan for my father and the trunk shocks (or struts, whichever you prefer) are gone. There are two S70 sedans are the local PNP with operating trunk shocks. However, the end cap on said model trunk struts looks slightly different than the basic "3 ring binder punch hole" type end clip on the '97 850 (that punch hole clip is common on 240's). So, can this S70 shock be used with the older style end clip of the 850? I'm assuming both model Volvos are using the hook based fitting at the other end of the shock. The pictures of the FCP website are ambiguous between the two model type shocks. The shocks on the S70's are OE to boot.....

I don't think so. IIRC, the 850 strut is quite long and slips onto a ball mount close to the rear seat.

Thanks Klaus. I already did notice that the tailgate lights on an S70 sedan are different than that of the 850 sedan.
