Ignition Chime Won't Shut Off With Car Running 98 V70 V70-XC70

I had previously removed the driver's door lock assy to fix a broken inside release cable, but no problems with the chime until after the battery was replaced a couple weeks later.

Also, dome lights won't go on, and haven't since I did the initial work on the door lock assy. Dome lights don't go on when any door is open.

Never had the chime issue, but if it was my car I would check the ignition lock for looseness. If you are lucky maybe it is simply a loose wire or the ignition needs to be remounted.

You might also need a new ignition but I'm speculating here as I don't have any direct experience with ignitions...

Check the fuse and bulb for the dome light. Stranger things have been fixed when something else was repaired.

Find out what conditions trigger the chime.
