I read a lot about how the 3.2 I6 is underpowered and an undesirable engine. Have to say I find it to be perfect for the V70 application. No matter the speed, it just purrs and pulls. The car is my wife's commuter and our highway flier when chasing our son's wrestling team. 80mph+? Like glass. It's our first non-turbo Volvo and a perfect car for us.

    Haven't driven the 3.2 NA. My friend has a 2011 XC 3.2T. That engine is a beast! Fastest Volvo I've ever driven. Smooth and quiet too. Can't really hear it until it reaches 80 mph. Usually gets 24 mpg highway but I've seen it get 27 highway. Not sure city. Pretty good for a heavy AWD car.

      I`m real happy with my 2012 XC60 3.2T which I bought last May. As noted, this engine is a beast & definitely the fastest Volvo I`ve owned/driven. Gas mileage is not like my XC70 2.5T which is quite acceptable(to me) but the XC60 is not our daily driver so stops to fuel up are not that frequent.
      Overall, the XC60 is my favorite Volvo in my 45 years of driving Volvo`s. Fast, fun, stylish & comfortable!!
