2007 v70 or xc70? V70-XC70 2007

Am considering purchasing a 2007 v70 would a xc70 be a better purchase? Have always had RW cars and live in NYC so realistically don't need AWD however, is the xc a finer auto?

If you decide to get an XC 70, move up to '08 and get the new platform.

One thing that has worked for me is to look for a used Volvo at an upscale dealer.

Two years ago, I bought a loaded '08 XC 70 with service records, new brakes and tires and 78K miles on it for $16,500 from a Lincoln dealer.

Two oil changes and a window reprogram is all that It has needed.

I don't know about the v70 but I do have a 2007 xc70. I have always had RWD so I was reluctant to change but at some point you need a newer car. I do still have a 945 for hauling stuff locally. We also have a C70 and I like the way the AWD handles better than the FWD. It feels like a RWD but more secure. The only downside is the extra drive train components. I did have to invest in a rebuilt drive shaft a couple of years ago.

My two cents, we have an '08 V70 which I love. Shortly after buying it I started to notice the XC70s of the same year but have never driven one. I think I would like the additional height for ingress/egress but don't want to worry about the eventual maintenance of the additional driveline components.

We also have a C70 which is fun and have had two RWD Volvos; a 745T and 945T. Nothing can touch them for short turning radius.
