Blocked vent C70 2004

My 04 C 70 will not take fast fill at the gas station. If the gas runs in too fast the nozzle will shut off.
A slow fill will Orkney ok.a clog in a vent.

In addition if I stop the engine before it engages I must wait 3 or 4 min.before trying again, and the engine will start.
Any ideas such as a clog in the vent.

OK.mystery solved
Fuel filler vent tube was clogged with webs. ( why would a spider go in there ?)

Next issue required a scan tool to find the error codes. The antenna ring went bad and so
At times the engine did not get a signal that the key was in the ignition.
On the road again with no worries

Actually the flow stoppage is independent of the amount of gas in the tank
Yes Klaus is correct we can not legally pump gas in N J but frequently the attendant will set it and
Walk to another customer, just then I will hear the shut off and go re start the pump. Sometimes If
I place the nozzle upside down it will pump normally, a small sensor/opening at the tip of the nozzle
Might be involved?
Now how about the tendency of the engine having to wait 4. or 5 min to start if I stop. Before letting the engine engage fully ?

Tnx
carl

Try to tell the attendant that your car has vent problems, as soon as it shuts off DO NOT TRY TO ADD MORE!

If you charge your gas, it does not matter what the total is, no need to add more to round it off.

Before this 'slow fill' started happening, do you have a habit of putting in a little more gasoline after the automatic shut off? I thought NJ didn't allow you to fill your own car?

When the fuel shuts off, tell the attendant not to add a splash more.

When the tank is overfull, the excess gasoline will flow down to the charcoal canister and fill that with liquid. When the line and the charcoal are full of gasoline, the venting system goes nuts.

Usually, driving to 1/4 tank and filling to 3/4 tank once will solve your problem.

No, spiders do not live in fuel vent tanks. And, no, insects can not breath gas vapors.
