in line filter setups V70-XC70 2007

Looking for more information and best advise.

Looking to add an inline filter or kit to the automatic transmission setup of the vehicle. What is recommended? What have others done? What works? How to install? etc.

looking for extra filtering capabilities as it is running very dirty still after putting 16 quarts of tranny fluid through the system over the past 4 months.

Thanks.

I also ask if you dumped the sump.

On 740s, that is how they changed the fluid - dump every 30K. At over 200K three of our 740s had decent looking fluid. They never were flushed.

Once, I had my dealer flush the fluid in our '96 855R with a power flush - the fluid still looked DIRTY!

I hosed them and they then did a dump and flush and the fluid was clean.

I've drained each time from the lower bolt on the transmission. Getting 4 quarts out each time I've done this.

Magnafine makes an appropriate filter. You will need to cut the existing line to the cooler.

Did you 'dump' the sump before you flushed the ATF? I always wait overnight and dump in the morning, without starting the engine. Amazing how much dirty fluid drains to the sump. Then, I immediately follow that with a flush, usually 8-10 quarts.

Keeping it running is better than buying new
