Installing axle seals too deep

Just finished up installing a new axle seal and new drive axle on the drivers side. I have read that the seal should be flush with the housing just like the one I removed, however I was not paying enough attention and tapped it in about an 1/8" deep. I used a little Allen wrench and was able to feel clearance behind the seal so I think I should be fine. Anything I should be concerned about?

Forgot to mention this was on an
96 850 Turbo Wagon with automatic.

I would not be concerned about 1/8".

But at least make sure that it is recessed evenly all the way around. In other words, don't have one half of the seal flush with the transmission case and the other side recessed 1/8". Does that make sense?

Yep, I did check that and it is very close but not exact.
