transmission problem 850

My '97 850 is stuck in limp home mode. Pulled code P1618. I had the same problem last summer and it turned out to be the wire between the battery and the fuse box. Fluid was changed last summer. No arrow.

I have not idea where to start looking. Any ideas?

First thing is to check the tranny fluid.
Check with the engine running, there's lines for cold and warmed up fluid.
Best done with the engine warmed up.
Note the color also, it should be red and not brown.

Thank you for the suggestion. I think I found the problem, crumbling wires near the ABS Unit and in the front passenger side near the wiper fluid filter. I taped them as best that I could. I just took the car for a ride and everything worked fine. I'll stay close to home to see if the problem was indeed solved.
