Front wheel hub bolts 850

Well, so far I've manage to strip the heads on 2 of the 4 torx head bolts while trying to remove the wheel bearing hub. I plan on grinding the damaged bolt heads off to remove the old bearing assembly.
Since I didn't order any new OEM replacement torx head bolts, would it be ok to substitute socket head cap screw (allen) instead.
I believe cap screw are generally very strong.

Thanks all

Now you know why impact wrenches are nice to have. I dislike torx and hex screws when they are used/exposed to salt and water, they tend to rust a lot and then get 'smaller' with age. Then they strip when exposed to a lot of torque.

If you have an E13, do they even exist?, you might want to try pounding the E13 on the end of the nut and trying again. I assume you used a lot of penetrating oil without getting the oil on the top of the bolt splines.

For a temporary 'fix', use what ever you think is strong enough with the proper torque. BUT, order new bolts and replace them one-at-a-time, as soon as possible. You wouldn't want the wheel to start flopping around after hitting a pot hole on a curve.

well, I did use an 1/2" impact after the 2 ft breaker bar didn't work. one attempt snapped the 3/8" short extension I was using, leaving the broken piece stuck in the E14 socket. then tried a "universal" socket, but it spun-out. I was just thinking of using some class 10.9 bolts till I get OEM bolts which seem to be a dealer only item.
