The front 12V receptacle has been pushed down inside the cavern below the console's plastic "walnut" piece that surrounds the transmission selector.

I need to know how to get access to that space below the "walnut" plastic surface.

Does the plastic simply snap out somehow? If so, where are the snaps located?

I'd greatly appreciate help!

This proves, once again, that you don't need a degree in astro physics to work on a Volvo. Some of the newer models do need an EE degree when the computers go haywire...

What you need to do is remove the center console.

Then, you can determine what you need to do to keep the cigarette lighter from falling through again.
