Block coolant plug location? 2004 V70 V70-XC70 2004

I'm going nuts trying to find the block coolant (antifreeze) plug on my 2004 V70 2.5T. Going nuts on the internet, that is. Can't find any pictures or description.

I found a plug about 3" back of the oil filter, facing the passenger side of the car, flush with the block. I have an allen that fits, but I'm afraid to pull it and see what comes out. Anyone know if this is it?

Thanks!

If you want a really good heater, try an adhesive heater. A V70R owner in Fairbanks has one on the oil pan and one on the tranny pan. Works great even at -50F, and, no holes in the block.

I found this via google search:

There are others...

A good battery, 5W30 engine oil, and temps above -40 are all you really need. Your seats have butt warmers, the antifreeze gets warm enough to start applying heat in about 1/2 mile after starting off, so what more do you want?

Found it. The best way to describe it is that it is a petcock facing the rear of the car, about 6" above the oil pan off the rear of the block passenger side. And above the right axle.

Sounds like the block coolant drain petcock.

I could have used you about 6 hours ago... and a picture.

I did ultimately find a picture, but when I Googled stuff like "V70 antifreeze 2004" (or 2001 or 2003, etc) I wasn't coming up with informative hits. If I had only looked up on the back of the engine, I may have recognized it before finding a reference online to "above axle".

It's good to know you are out there, Klaus.
