Should you really replace the serpentine belt at 105,000 miles? S60 2002

Hello All,

Just purchased a 2002 S60 T5 with 5 speed manual and 130K miles. According to owner’s manual and the maintenance book, you should change the serpentine belt at 105,000. That seems excessive. I have two ’96 850 wagons (5 speed manuals/non-turbo) and owner’s manual recommends replacing the serpentine belt at 60,000 miles. I know, a different car. I would like to hear people’s opinion: replace the belt at 60K or 105K. Thanks to all who respond.

Hugh
