My drivers seat is loose, like I'm sure many of yours are too.

Its mostly clunking when I stop or speed up, etc..

I have looked in the archives a bit, and only found someone referencing a part # and also sticking a nickel in somewhere.

But I don't see WHERE to install the nickel, does anyone have a good idea what term I should use for the archive search?

IIRC: move the seat forward and check the seat rails at the rear. They are put together with rivets and those can loosen. The rivets will not break and fall out, but the slight movement can cause a 'clunk'.

The 'fix' was to drill out the rivets and install nuts&bolts, which can also come loose.

Of course, check the 14mm bolts that hold the seat rails to the floor...

Are you sure it's not the seat back cable that has developed slack?

Do you mean the cable that helps move the back of the seat? The tilt, I think?

I already fixed that. I never did get to fixing the seat, because I adjusted the seat a bit and the annoying knock/whatever went away (and I've been too busy and the weather has been crappy lately).
