I am almost certain you dont have one!
what i am about to say i know for a fact applies to a 2008 xc90 and a 2009 s80 and they both have the same tranny, and i presume yours does have the same,
the way one can check the oil level is very archaic, remove the splash pan, the plastic belly pan, find the transmission drip hole, remove the plug, start car in a level surface. now the exact numbers escape me but its something like once the transmission fluid reaches 50c add fluid on the top ( another plug needs to be removed for this its under the airbox) add fluid until it starts to drip out of the drip hole from the bottom, but all this needs to be done BEFORE the transmission reached and upper limit for temp so between 50 and 60 (again not sure on the numbers) and once it starts to drip you are full.

    Hi David,

Why don't you search for the owners manual for your car on the web?
    That info will be there.

Your tranny dipstick will be hard to see buried below air ducts and hoses.
It should be in line with your brake master cylinder and just to the right
of the engine cylinder head when standing in front of the car. Look down
amidst the hoses and ducts lo the left of the battery. Its back from the
engine cooling fan a few inches. There's a yellow handle on the tranny dipstick.

    Bill
