Hey guys,

My power windows on my S70 2000 unexpectedly
stopped working all 4 at the same time.

No switches works on the master switch assembly
(except the door locks) nor the individual
switches on each door.

Checked all fuses OK

Is there another fuse and/or protection circuit around?
because I checked with my voltmeter and there's no 12V
present on the 2 big connectors.

There's F37 and it's the pwr windows circuit breaker, is that what you checked?
If there's no power to the breaker then you look at "overload relay X", marked 107
that's switched by the X line from the ignition switch.

Find the Volvo wiring diagram for your model year car.
There's a special page for power windows and the next page gives locations.
My S70 schematic isn't complete, so I used the 850 diagram which is very similar.

Running all windows at once really isn't a great idea.

I checked F37 and it's OK. I swapped it with F39 just in case, same thing.

I have no relay at 107 location, it's an empty spot.

I'll continue investigating

Hi Dennis,

I looked for a better wiring diagram and found this

It's a bigger file but it is difficult to use since the pages in the PDF file
do not coincide with the Volvo manual. Get this wiring diagram!

PDF page 26 shows the windows circuit (Volvo page 272 go figure)
It is quite different from the 850

Notice Fuse 11/A2, Fuse 11/A8 and 11/C37 need to be OK

You get the handy pictoral for the fuses at PDF page 53 (Volvo pg 6)

The involved relay is 2/30 (different than the 850)

Those two pages should help you find what quit.

Search for a better manual and post back if you find one,
I could only find part of the component list.

Replaced it and everything is fine now.

was having similar issues with my '98...turned out to be the master switch itself...I;ve read that switches were a known issue on this model...bought brand new OEM from Tasca...far more reasonably priced than my local dealer...3 minute remove and replace..ta da...windows all functioning as they should..
