adding a BrickHead.. S70

so a friend of mine is thinking of taking the plunge into the Swedish waters...he's contemplating purchase of a 2005 S40, manual 6sp...thought they only came with a 5...AWD, 140k, asking price $6k...I know enough to be dangerous to him...I'm kinda leery of the AWD, apparently dealer only if things go south....fair price? of course depending on condition/records...thoughts/opinions? the S70 group rules!

thanks all!

If he likes the car, then he should look around to see what similar S40s are selling for.

A light pressure turbo with a stick shift is a PLUS, the 6 speed is optional. The AWD is nice when the roads are slippery, but is does reduce the mpg by 1.

The new AWD models since 2004 have Haldex, and that system needs the oil and filter changed every 50K miles. Not a dealer only thing. And much better than the 1998 cars.

It is still the 5 cylinder engine, just a very tight engine compartment to do any work on it.

Get history!
