Location of starter 850 93

Hi- My starter needs replacing, it kicks out and spins uselessly. I want to know if that is it on the front of the engine or is it hidden on the back? Is it easy to get to if anyone has done theirs?

    It is located on the front side of the engine, accesed from the top. You will have to remove the fan shroud to get to it. It's mounted by 2 bolts through the bell housing, and 1 bolt to the block on the other end. No special tools required and not too labor intensive. Expect the new starter to be a different length, so it may not be possible to reinstall the support bracket on the rear, but fear not, it's not critical.
