Where is check code terminal and ECU? 850 1997



I'm used to 940 turbo 93 engine compartment. Now I'm new owner of 850 GLE 20 volve 97. Please help me locate the where about of the terminal and ECU.

Help appreciated.

    The ECM is located in the right front corner of the engine compartment in a big black box. (the other one in that box is trans control module) the ecm is a bosch control unit..

    The OBDII connector for '97 is under the coin holder above the gear shift..You must have a scan tool to use or read either so? good luck

    The code test terminal is under the coin tray in front of the shifter on the center console. You will need a scan tool to read and reset codes and the service light.

      So, does it mean that the reading of codes and resetting is not as simple as the good old 940?. How do I carry it out on my own?. I imagine that the scan tool is like the one normally used by the volvo service centre...handheld computer like stuff whick cost a couple of grands. So no more DIY?.
