Haldex oil change V70-XC70

AWD not working. I have read various posts about check AOC oil level, then changing the Haldex filter and oil. Anyone have experience doing the change? No fault codes on Vida, but the driveshaft spins free with wheels on ground and gear in P(ark).

Haldex oil change V70-XC70

Hi Nick,

I've looked at some AWD systems in Europa imports including the Haldex on AWD Volvo after 2004 (?) I think?

Been like ten years since your last brickboard.com post! Welcome back!

What year is your V70-XC70?

An oil change may not change your malfunctioning rear axle portion of your AWD system.

There should be some manner of OBD port access where you can drive to your local auto parts store (call first) like Autozone, borrow the code scanner, and see if you have AWD system and other fault codes. Actually, check for all faults in all systems that have reporting function exhaustively.

The clutch control in the rear axle may have failed, may have a minor electrical fault, or something.

Also, while a durable version of AWD system, the Haldex AWD system utterly loves good care well ahead of schedule with fresh lubricants (both grease pack and oil in the rear axle). You want to also closely inspect all CV joint boots for breaches or clamping failures at either end.

You may like this Swede Speed forum thread on all Haldex lifetime lubricants in S40's/V50's 2005-2010. Use as a reference when specifying replacement fluid for your XC-70.

Questions?

Hope that help you,

cheers,

dud.
